The following is the overarching Scriptual basis of our vision: Matthew 5:14-16 says "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Below is a guide to prayer leading up to the event.

QUICK PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

As you consider the details of this event take into account that you will want to capture people's service by appointing someone to take photos. There are a few things to take into account.

SHOOT BETTER PHOTOS

1) Take a group shot of volunteers with an identifying sign or building showing the project location.
2) Pictures that show faces are more interesting. (turn off the date function if you have one)
3) Get shots of volunteers in action.
4) Move in close and fill the frame with the subject to create impactful pictures.
5) Before taking a picture, check the area behind your subject. Lookout for trees or poles sprouting from your subject’s head. Here the background makes for a humorous photo.
6) Use the flash setting on the camera to improve your outdoor pictures. Use it in bright sunlight to lighten dark shadows under the eyes and nose. Use it on cloudy days to brighten up faces and make them stand out from the background.
